Getting Started with GranDEM
This guide explains how to install and configure GranDEM on your computer. Follow the steps according to your operating system and deployment environment.
Make sure you have the GranDEM installation package and a valid GranDEM license before starting the installation.
1. System Requirements
Before installing GranDEM, make sure your system meets the required hardware and software specifications.

2. Windows Installation
Follow these steps to install GranDEM on a Windows computer.
Download the Installer
Download the GranDEM installation package provided by your organization or GranDEM administrator.
Start the Installation
Locate the downloaded installer and double-click the installation file.
Follow the Setup Wizard
Follow the instructions displayed by the installation wizard and select the desired installation location.
Complete Installation
Click Install and wait until the installation process is completed.
3. Linux Installation
GranDEM can also be installed in a Linux environment.
Download the Package
Download the GranDEM Linux installation package.
Extract the Package
Extract the downloaded package into the desired installation directory.
Install Dependencies
Install all required system dependencies before launching GranDEM.
Launch GranDEM
Start GranDEM using the provided executable or launch command.
4. HPC Installation
For high-performance computing environments, GranDEM can be configured on an HPC cluster according to the deployment requirements.
Contact your system administrator before installing GranDEM on a shared HPC environment.
Prepare the Environment
Ensure that the required software, libraries and compute resources are available.
Install GranDEM
Install or configure the GranDEM package according to the HPC environment.
Configure Execution
Configure the required execution environment, paths and resources before running simulations.
5. License Activation
After installing GranDEM, activate the software using your assigned license.
A valid GranDEM license is required to use licensed software features.
Open GranDEM
Launch the installed GranDEM application.
Open License Management
Open the license management section from the application.
Activate Your License
Enter your license information and complete the activation process.
6. Installation Verification
After installation and license activation, launch GranDEM and verify that the application starts correctly.
If GranDEM starts successfully and your licensed features are available, the installation is complete.
7. Troubleshooting
If you experience problems during installation, check the following items.
GranDEM does not start
Check that all required dependencies are installed and that your system meets the required specifications.
License activation fails
Verify your license information and check the network connection if online activation is required.
Missing dependencies
Install the required libraries and dependencies for your operating system.
